Despite its small size Ravensthorpe is not purely a commuter dormitory. Businesses within the village, apart from farming, include a plant nursery, civil engineering, replacement windows, extrusions distribution, garage, hi-tech engineering, educational mailing, boot making and various home-based services. There is one shop/Post Office and one public house

is situated in northwest Northamptonshire, approximately midway between
Northampton and Rugby, eight miles northeast of Daventry, and ten miles
south of Market Harborough.
The M1 motorway lies six miles to the west and the nearest railway stations are at Long Buckby, Northampton and Rugby

Speeding
vehicles continue to be a concern on our village roads especially as traffic
increases as drivers use their satellite navigation systems to find shorter
routes.
Church Fete
What a fabulous event! Colin & Emma Mold, along with the Fete Committee and all the volunteers, put on a superb show.
The BBC Green Welly show broadcast live from the event which was opened by BBC presenter Bernie Keith.
Sponsors Ovenclean have already expressed their wish to be linked to a similar village event in 2009.
There were numerous stalls, competitions and traditional games which
created a wonderful atmosphere
Dog Fouling
This is still a problem throughout the village despite an increased campaign to encourage dog owners to clean up.
Whilst the footpaths appear to be better, It seems that our grass verges and worryingly the well used playing field and Top Ardles Wood are still as messy as ever
